Liat Belinson
CEO, CTO
Within AIP, Liat has designed and programmed the AI search engine and currently has a granted patent on her AI solution. She has vast experience integrating her patent search technology within the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) and within industry-leading patent search providers. As part of her work at USPTO, Liat managed a large team of software developers and system integrators and interacted frequently with senior government officials.
She has also implemented her technology in projects commissioned by the Department of Defense (DOD) examining the impact of procurement policy on innovation, and the National Science Foundation on the impact of university research on the composition of corporate R&D.
Her company, AIP, currently serves over 170 active users of her AI solution, and has collaboration with numerous vendors.
She has an extensive experience in identifying and implementing process and technology improvement to increase business performance, including Israel Defense Force and corporate clients. Liat has an undergraduate degree in Computer Science and Economics (BSc) from Tel Aviv University and a graduate degree in Information Systems (MA) from the London School of Economics and Political Science.

Paul DiGiammarino
Paul DiGiammarino has 30+ years of experience in lead operating, governance, and market development roles in emerging ventures.
He is a serial entrepreneur who brings a distinguished record of success to every organization he works with. While serving as EVP, North America, for Sapient, Inc. and CEO of Steelpoint and Anaqua, Paul led organizations to realize an average of more than 10X return on investments to clients and investors through outstanding client service and rapid sales growth. Paul was also a member of the executive team of American Management Systems (now owned by CGI), that grew from $50 million to $1 billion during his tenure.
He started his career with Coopers and Lybrand, now owned by PWC. A former member of one of the IAM Top 300 IP Strategists, Paul has grown IP and Legal services companies to more than a quarter billion dollars in value since 2002.
In addition to his Director role at AI Patents, Inc., he is a Director for ipCreate, Inc. and on the Advisory Board of InventionShare, Inc. Paul holds a CPA and a BBA with concentration in Accounting and Computer Science from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.
Jon Fjeld
Jon Fjeld has been teaching entrepreneurship and strategy, and leading the entrepreneurship efforts at Fuqua since 2005. He has created a three course sequence called the Program for Entrepreneurs (www.dukep4e.org) that applies a disciplined approach to entrepreneurial ventures ranging from social ventures to life science and technology start-ups. In addition, he teaches strategy and entrepreneurship at all levels of the university from undergraduate to executive MBA. His primary focus is studying innovation in large and small firms as well as the methodology of strategy research.
Before returning to academia, he spent over twenty years in marketing, engineering and general management in start-ups and public companies. From December, 2000, until July, 2004, he served as vice president of engineering for Align Technology in Santa Clara, CA. Between 1995 and 2000, he served as CEO of two RTP venture backed firms: Geomagic, a 3D software company and NetEdge Systems, a data networking equipment company. Prior to that, Fjeld spent 13 years at IBM, where he served in a number of management and executive positions within the networking and software business units. He began his professional career as an assistant professor in the philosophy department at Duke University.
Fjeld holds a Ph.D. (1977) and MA in philosophy from the University of Toronto, an MBA from Duke University, an MS in computer science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and a BA in mathematics and philosophy from Bishop's University.
Mr. Phelps is a former Corporate VP responsible for Licensing and IP at IBM and also Microsoft.
He has been and is a consultant and advisor to many international companies including GE, PriceWaterhouseCoopers, SAP, Samsung and Boeing. He also served on the Intellectual Property Committee of the National Academies of Science and seven boards of directors. He is a recognized expert on the management and monetization of intellectual and intangible assets, entrepreneurship and innovation.
He has written and spoken extensively on these subjects at numerous business forums and universities, including Duke Business and Law Schools, The University of California, USC, Cornell Law School, The University of Washington, Oxford University, and Keio and Waseda Universities in Japan. He has served as Executive in Residence at Duke's Fuqua School of Business and on its Board of Visitors. He was recently named Distinguished Practitioner in Residence at Cornell Law School. In 2006, he was elected to the initial class of the Intellectual Property Hall of Fame.
